Profile

Associate Director of Research and Outreach

I am interested in exploring the spatio-temporal dynamics of complex systems characteristic of ecological and human-environmental interactions, particularly as they are expressed at various scales across landscapes. My background and suite of talents enables me to contribute to a wide range of crossdisciplinary and collaborative study. Examples include using remote sensing and forecasting to track urban development as it expands across the greater Charlotte region, mapping the spread of Sudden Oak Disease in the Big Sur, CA and coupling remotely-determined leaf area index with forest productivity models to estimate the amount of atmospheric carbon sequestered by a pine plantation in north Florida.
